Royalty!

as far as royalty goes, there are a lot of rules involved, not to scare you or anything. i don't care what anyone says here: WE ARE NOT A LION KING RPG. if anything, we are more related to wolves and horses than either cats or other big cat rpg's. now, if you read up on the history of Leo Magus, you're clear on the previous kings that have ruled these lands. now, you're asking yourself, "how do I become king?" well, that's an easy enough question to answer. lions age one year every six months, and they die around age thirty, so that means that you have a lot of time with your big buddy. But the lifespan is even shorter for royalty. because we want to get some freshness in our lineup, royal lions only live for about one fourth of whatever their age is when they become heir. so if your prince is 12 years old when he becomes king, he has 3 more years as king. now, this is going to benefit older heirs, as if you became the king at age 20, you'd have five more years until you'd die. if the age is an odd number, like 21, you'd just round to 5 plus whatever excess you have, so that would be six years of ruling.

consequently, a king can be booted off the throne. queens cannot, however, because they are the king's mate. now, in the wild there are usually more lionesses than lions. we know we are probably going to have a greater amount of males, so in LM, males help hunt for the pride.

Kings

kings are the ruler of the royal pride. there is only one king in all of Leo Magus island. he is the one who creates the militia and orders others of the royal pride around. he will have litters of 2-4 cubs, always, and because of how his genes work one will always be a male, who will take over the throne if the king dies or steps down early. they are the highest in the hierarchy

Queens

queens are the second in line and like the king is in charge of the males in the pride, the queen is in charge of the females and everyone below her. she is the mother of the cubs, and will only breed once for the king. same power rules apply.

Heir (Prince/Princess)

the prince and the princess (es as the case may be) are the heirs to the throne. the king and queen have one litter of up to 2-4 children, in case any of the eldest die. the first heir will be the next ruler of Leo Magus. they are the main generals of the militia and in charge of all underlings.

Soldiers

they work for the militia and right under the king and queen. usually they are gruff and angry, but some are kind and and sweet.

Lords/Ladies

lords and Ladies are like kings and queens, but they are rulers of their own sub-prides. lords and ladies are the highest ranking males apart from the royal family. usually snobbish, their colors are more often darker than peasants but it isn't always that way. you cannot start as a lo/la: you must be accepted into a sub-pride and earn the place as a higher-up male/female.

Wizards/Witches

wizards are a breed all on their own. most wizards carry the curly-coated gene, and have deep, passionate blue eyes, they are like magicians and are believed to be able to conduct magic, like give you special apendages or items. but this is all fake, for wizards are mo more than cowardly lions. they are cunning and witty, able to get out of any sort of trouble.

Peasants

simple commoners, peasants are free to join any sub-pride that they like. they cna work their way up to lord/lady, but it takes time.

Outsiders

these are dangerous lions that were either banished or left on their own free will. they are forbidden from ever joining the ranks again, and are to be treated like outcasts. they are the lowest rank and are usually killed if seen or at least attempted.
