ABOUT LM

LM is short for Leo Magus, or Magic Lion. The lions here do not “do magic” they are magical and majestic in their every being.
The lions here have strange colorings and have no idea what a human is. They live on a very small, unknown island off the coast of Africa… (sort of Atlantis-like no? except the whole part about being underwater) Since the lions live here with only themselves and prey (as well as strong natural disasters, and super diseases) they have only one name for their island that has passed down from generation to generation- Tierra, or Earth.
LM lions have their own religion, and have evolved above that of the normal lion we think of today! Their king and queen rule the entire land, and there is only one pride as they are all united and peaceful.(most of the time) Since there is only one pride, there is no need for a name since there is no need to stand out against other prides.
Lions here are capable of a few human traits –
Organized warfare: They have a military, but one that they don’t really use, and is more of a militia.
Religion: A passing down of ideas from one generation to the next about how these lions should live their lives, and where they came from.
Detailed, Ordered Hierarchies: They have titles to almost every lion in the kingdom- to make it easier, it’s all Medieval. King, Queen, Lords, and all the way to Peasants.
Their religion is like their code of honor, and most of the lions follow it faithfully, their king and queen are like their god and goddess and they rule all land and water.
Humans are not completely exempt from this island, however. We think that humans would have lived here once long ago, before the lions evolved to have bright colors, and this is why they use terms like Tierra, and earth...

EVOLUTION

It is said that the evolution on Tierra is more advanced than the earth we know today. Since we believe that there may have been some human influence long long ago, we think that the lions of that day would have been cream colored and tan like the lions we know of. Why have they obtained these crazy colorings? Well, evolution explains it all- as the humans all died out from Tierra, the lions became the most feared predator… they soon became the only predator, and besides diseases and disasters, there was no predator that went after them… Because of this, they had no need for their camouflage anymore, and females began selecting males for their appearance, rather than their ability to lead. So many years, decades, had passed and look at them now!

PAST

Benevolence IV + Kira - Current Ruler, she was Kisha's first born daughter and took over after Phineas II's death. She rules with Kira a very evil male who she calls a mistake, but honors him as King just the same.

Phineas II - Kisha's only son. He was named after the great Phineas and they hoped he was just as great. Unfortunately his death was fast when he fell ill with Maleficus' Virus.

Kisha + Konalia - Queen Kisha officially ended the "reign of death" as she and King Konalia ruled kindly, beginning the largest rule of peace yet seen. They had five cubs, four were female.

Lanya + Arpeggio - Lanya and king Arpeggio ruled together for the longest period of time in the pride history since Leomus had in the stories from ancient times. They were the meanest group of lions ever faced. The pride cowered under their rule and they kept a strong militia. They never fought with themselves though so they were considered a stable, peaceful, government.

Nervosa II + Lanya - She became a powerful dictator who had no set king. She did bare children, however, none were male. Her first born was Lanya.

Serebelli II + Nervosa I - He was Antoine's son, and Nette's as well. Nette had passed down her dark traits to Serebelli and his Queen was picked because of her wicked behavior, Nervosa was the first Queen to rule in "reign of Death."

Antoine III + Nette - Leon's son and sole heir to the throne. He was captivated by a female named Nette. They say her heart was black and perilous and she was the beginning of the "reign of death"

Leon + Aeir - took over the throne from his brother when the pride accused him of murdering his mother. His brothers all said that Leon was crazy and should not be given the throne, but he was second born. He had a queen, Queen Aeir, and had one son.

Antoine II - Ruled shortly after his father died. His mother, chi, remained alive but as the Queen's mother for quite some time before her strange disappearance. Antoine was blamed by his brother and the throne was handed over before he even had cubs or a Queen.

Chi + Antoine I - Chi ruled with King Antoine I. They were a powerful force, but always were benevolent. They had four sons, who all had a chance at the throne.

Benevolence II - She had one daughter, Chi, who took the throne. She was not as powerful as her aunt had been and is the least remembered queen of all.

Serebelli I + Lartize - he and Queen Lartize took the throne quickly and ambitiously, yet they only had one daughter who they named Benevolence II in hopes she would carry the throne as her aunt had.

Light - Phineas' son. He took the throne without ever having a queen and died soon after... unfortunately his sisters had also died from old age and so the throne was given to Benevolence I's brother, Serebelli.

Phineas + Benevolence I - The first lion to take the pride into his hands after Leomus. He was paired with Queen Benevolence the first and they had one daughter, and one son who took the throne after.

Leomus - He was an ugly mouse-brown lion who wanted the throne so badly he killed his nephew and sister for the position. He became the first king.

Demeter - First Queen. She never had a set mate and only had one son. She's now considered a godess.

GODS

Medusa, Stheno, Euryale : The three sisters (Seen below) Have returned! As goddesses, they are wreaking havoc on Terra. They are so mad that the main pride their mother founded has split up that they decided to destroy anyone who threatened peace.

Demeter The Goddess of Nature : Demeter is basically Mother Nature. She is also the very first queen to have ruled the royal pride. She cares for all who follow the religion and live under the royal family by giving them good amounts of prey and letting the rain fall in the desert.

Phoebus The God of Sun : Demeter's first born and only son. He is the son god and provides warmth and life to new-born cubs as he himself was killed as a young cub and is still believed to be one today. This is why some mothers seem to "baptize" their cubs before him.

Leomus The God of Evil : Uncle to Phoebus, Brother to Demeter. He slaughtered the two to claim the throne for himself when Phoebus was only a day old. It is said that when the prey runs low, or the rain covers the sun for too long- it is Leomus trying to rule again. He was exiled from the pride when they found out it was he who committed the murder.

The Three Sisters : Three sisters that were never killed. They are daughters of Demeter. They grieved until the day they died and they were always connected at the hip- never separated from one another… they dared not to challenge Leomus or anyone else who tried to claim their rightful spot on the throne. It is said that when a lion is cowardly, he takes after the Three Sad Sisters.

Spero The God of Hope : Spero is the hopeful lion who could not stand to see his pride being taken over by a sinister creature like Leomus. He told his companions that there was a way to win a war against him and his militia, but they had to hope. He organized the attack against Leomus and died fighting Leomus who got away and was never seen again.

Dilectio The God of Love : He was a general in the militia that served Demeter and soon became a spy in Spero’s plans to overthrow Leomus. He was as soft hearted as a kitten and loved everything he touched. Like our “struck by Cupid’s arrow” if you fall in love it’s said to be the “match of Dilectio.”

Maleficus The Goddess of Revenge : She was the mother of Leomus and was also thought of as a “wizard” she was cowardly and hid behind the words of confusion… making predictions so vague that they could mean anything. When she heard what happened to Leomus she “cursed” the pride sending a plague that killed her first and then ninety percent of the prides population. She did not actually “curse” them but had poisoned a zebra carcass that most of the lions were feasting on. Now, whenever one of LM’s disastrous diseases strikes, Maleficus is blamed and sometimes a sacrifice is given.
