In a utopia, nothing is perfect
In a utopia, nothing is perfect
Tierra is a perfect utopia now. After the wars from times passed with Demeter and Leomus, there is peace and perfection. All lions live in one big happy family under the royal family and their militia. It’s sad, but their militia has grown soft and soggy with their lack of war, and no one even knows how to fight. There were a few mutinous up rises from time to time, though none more famous than the story of Proditorm, but the trouble makers were easily booted out of the pride and left to become outsiders like always.
With this lax behavior, many lions have said “bring me action” yet, they know not what their asking. Can a utopia really be so wonderfully perfect? Is it possible that there is nothing bad in the lion’s society? Like all things, utopias must come to an end, but how violent will the ending to the story be?
Proditorm was a determined juvenile when he was exiled. He exalted Leomus by quoting “I shall be king, even though I’m not heir,” and his ambitious behavior scared the king enough to have him banished as an outsider, never to return to the pride again.
It seemed, unfortunately that the king had done it several times that year, he had to deal with several lions and lionesses that either threatened their throne, or had walked out of the pride themselves because they wanted adventure. Because of this amount- Proditorm became excited, was there an up-rising a-brewing?
Proditorm found an oasis in the middle of the desert- a place no lion from the soft pride would want to search. He would collect all the wandering lions he could and he would take them in, be kind to them and tell him the plan. Proditorm only had one lion that he trusted, his friend, and together they would rule this mass of outcasts and over throw the king. But against his will, Proditorm had to get to the mountains- he needed to climb to the top to see if he could find another lion… this eagerness eluded him just enough to mask how treacherous the mountain face was and he was sent crumbling down to the bottom of the mountain- dead.
Will the band of outcasts that once knew Proditorm as their leader break up and diffuse, or maybe there are lions brave and strong enough to lead them to an attack on the King and Queen, to claim the throne that, they believe, belonged to Proditorm!
“They cannot be serious about it as they only know lies,” said the king.
“But they don’t know that,” said the queen.
