Characters!
Listed here are the rules you should follow, if you want your character to be accepted and to be able to role-play and have a marvelous time! BEWARE: this below is fifty-eight lines and 800 words of important information! Also note, you marvelous ones you, you do NOT need to be accepted to RP here... you MUST use an RP sample that is more than 200 words (MINIMUM) and you should also completely finish before RPing. Also Also note, Please only reply to another person's bio if they have the same name as one of your characters.
ONE Please use our form! I’m sorry but when people use forms from other websites it makes me think they’re recycling bios. [ROAR, cookie is really irked by this!] (If you absolutely must recycle a bio, make sure I never hear about it!) Not only that, but if you use another form things go missing that are needed, that or they are switched up and in places that I can’t easily check and say “oh yeah accepted.” You can change the words used (change Name to Title for instance) and all that fancy shmancy crap like [xx. Oh my lovely title is » Todd] but don’t change the form!!
TWO When naming your character, try and be original. A simple check of the names that already exist is fine if you’re looking for a style however. Lion king names are NOT okay… think things up yourself. I don’t want any Fluffys, Spikes, or Leos either, let’s be a tad more eclectic that just what we hear people call their pets.
THREE The maximum life span of a lion is debated quite often, it travels from fourteen in the wild and twenty in the zoo, to eighteen in the wild and thirty in the zoo. Fortunately for LM we are fantastical and decide to have a total life span of thirty years in the wild. But remember, your lion will age, get sick, and eventually die >]! (does anyone else get the feeling that cookie had to much fun writing that last part?)
FOUR Ageing will be done in real time for adults (lions in real-life mature at two or two and a half… here it’s three kay?) So when a year in real-life passes, your lion will age one year. For cubs and juveniles it will age a bit faster. Cubs (lions under one year) will age two months a week… so in six weeks they’ll be ready to be a juvenile! Juveniles will age one year a month (so in two months, they’ll be full grown adults! Weeee......)
Gestation periods for females in the real-world are 100 to 116 days, but here they will be twenty five days, because we know that we don’t like to wait for our cubs! One week after birth, if you have not found anyone to Role-Play all of your cubs (generally 3-5) then the ones not adopted out will be die of either a disease or mal-nutrition, and the rest will be able to be role-played.
FIVE In character fights are soooo wanted! Are you kidding me? I’d love to judge a lion fight and decide who wins the girls, or the territory! But there are a few guide lines to follow if you are talking about an all out physical fight. (verbal fights? Take them as far as you want >3)
--- Females Females may fight females, but since females do not own prides in the wild (even though we will have queenly females here) they will not fight males for territory! The only time a female can fight a male is if he threatens her cubs, or her pride... if she is a widowed queen, she needs to find another mate, or may be allowed to fight for her territory. Males Males fight males, but any self-respecting male will not fight a female. If a malexfemale fight is to break out it can only be for the reason that he is threatening her in some way- not territorial! (unless she’s a widowed female who thinks she can handle the fight)
--- The fight will be judged by the administrators and the winner gets land claim and points awarded to their account! –wee-
SIX The coloring of your lion is a bit tricky to describe! Here, since we are fantasy/mythically based, we can have lions with strange patterns and weird colors. Sounds fun right? Keep in mind that, generally, only regal blood-lined cubs will be born with more than one color, and the most vibrant markings. If you are a normal lion, you may be gray blue with slate blue patches, but if you are a regal lion you might have bright orange fur with white socks and a black muzzle with silver swirls through your pelt… though these may be a tad exaggerated. You should know if you’re an heir to the throne or not…>.> Please, keep it to at maximum 2 colors, and for royalty maximum of 3 colors.
SEVEN Okay, so the deal with other fantasy-like concepts. We will NEVER have lions with USABLE wings. If we ever do have lions with wings, they will not be big enough to carry a lion into the air. In fact, it ought not to be a lion that needs to run because they’d probably slow him/her down too much. Horns will be considered as well as jewelry and other type of fun things (like rainbow pattern (or more than three colors anyway)) but these will be put up in a shop or catalog and will need to be bought either before or after the lion with these attributes is made. Powers are not going to be made... it’s just to hard to keep god-modding, and Mary Sue’ing out of the RP that way.
